Join The Wine Advocate’s Antonio Galloni for a historic, once in a lifetime dinner featuring a complete vertical of Tenuta dell’Ornellaia’s Masseto. Eleven Madison Park and Executive Chef Daniel Humm will prepare a sumptuous six course menu. Winemaker Axel Heinz will be attendance to discuss the history and evolution of Masseto through the years. Guests will have an opportunity to taste every vintage of Masseto going back to the inaugural 1987. The vertical will include the 1986 Il Merlot dell’Ornellaia, a trial wine that was never commercially released but that served as the blueprint for what later would become Masseto, and a preview of the as-yet-unreleased 2008. We will finish with Ornus, a late-harvest dessert wine that is being released for the first time this year. This is the most comprehensive vertical tasting ever held of Masseto anywhere in the world. All of the wines are being sourced directly from the estate’s cellars, providing guests with the unparalleled opportunity to taste pristine bottles. The remaining stock of some of the older vintages ensures this tasting will never be replicated.

We will begin at 6:30pm with a Champagne reception featuring the 1997 Salon and sit down for dinner at 7:00pm.
